State land worth Rs472.38b retrieved: SMBR

As per the instructions of Senior Member Board of Revenue Babar Hayat, a campaign against land-grabbers is underway and the revenue department got vacated 188,000 kanal of state lands worth Rs472.38 billion from qabza mafia across the province.

During the last 7 days, the revenue department recovered 211 acres of state land worth Rs280 million from illegal occupants whereas during the last 48 hours, 31 acres and 8 kanals state land worth Rs40 million was vacated.

Similarly, during the last 48 hours, 25-acre land worth more than Rs20 million was retrieved in district Multan, 8 kanal state land worth Rs6 million in Sahiwal and 6 acres of land worth Rs12 million was recovered from the qabza mafia in Vehari.

Senior Member Board of Revenue Babar Hayat has said that eradication of occupation mafia, securing government lands and indiscriminate implementation of government writ is our obligation.

He directed that revenue officers should brought land grabbers to book without considering any pressure.

He further directed that the Revenue Officers should use all legal and governmental options and resources to eradicate the qabza mafia.

Meanwhile, SMBR Babar Hayat Tarar presided over the 19th full board meeting of BoR. All the board members and concerned officers were present on this occasion.

The matters regarding setting up of e-library, speed of work of divisional verification committees and restoration of chokidar system in villages, cancellation of Punjab Privatization Act and other important agenda items were reviewed during the meeting.

while addressing the meeting, Babar Hayat Tarar said that the setting up of e-library is a project harmonise with modern demands where e-books related to revenue laws, revenue decisions, law websites and national and international law will available online.
