PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday removed two members of cabinet over showing poor performance, local media reported.
Hisham Inam Ullah Khan, who was serving as provincial minister for social welfare since January 2020, has been removed from the post.
He was elected to KP Assembly from PK-92 Lakki Marwar in 2018 elections as the candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
On the other hand, the chief minister has removed his advisor on Revenue and Estate Qalandar Khan Lodhi. He was elected to the provincial assembly from PK-38 Abbottabad.
Qalandar Khan Lodhi, who resigned as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue and Estate on Wednesday, has been immediately appointed as adviser to the chief minister on the same subject.
Lodhi was appointed as advisor immediately after he resigned as minister for revenue and estate in June this year.
The KP cabinet’s strength had reached 17 following the induction of four new ministers who took oath on April 4, 2021.
Under Article 130, sub-clause 6 of the Constitution under the 18th Amendment, “the cabinet shall be collectively responsible to the Provincial Assembly and the total strength of the Cabinet shall not exceed fifteen members or eleven per cent of the total membership of a provincial assembly, whichever is higher.”
