The Brazilian writers and poets are keen to join their Pakistani counterparts in various literary projects and to exchange ideas with them as Pakistan is a land of great writers, poets and mystics.
These views were expressed by President of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (BAL) Dr. Marco Luccheci at a webinar organized by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).
Ambassador of Pakistan in Brazil, Dr. Ahmad Hussain Dayo and Chairman of the PAL Dr Yousuf Khushk also participated in the webinar.
The webinar titled “A Dialogue on Literary Cooperation between Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and Brazilian Academy of Letters” called for close cooperation and exchange programme so that the writers of the two countries could learn from and share experiences with each other particularly in various genres of literature.
“It is a joyful moment for the writers of Pakistan and Brazil that like our golden friendship in politics, economics, trade and defence we are formally being united in literary ties as well” said Dr Yousuf Khushk in his opening comments.
Dr. Marco Luccheci said, “My heart feels very happy with this literary joint initiative with the literati hailing from the land of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Sultan Baho, Shah Latif, Rehman Baba and Bulleh Shah.”
Pakistan’s ambassador to Brazil, Ahmad Hussain Dayo, held that the proposed joint venture and the endeavor would definitely bring far-reaching results in developing writer to writer contact of both the countries and ensured his full cooperation regarding MoU signing and in other literary matters.
He also ensured full cooperation regarding reciprocal visits of the writers and poets between Pakistan and Brazil.
