Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has the greatest love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), which he has proved through his thinking, planning and expression at every forum.

“The PM visited Masjid-i-Nabawi to pay his respect at Roza-e-Rasool (SAWW) barefooted.”

Talking to the media on Sunday, Dr Firdous said that PM Imran Khan wanted to make Pakistan a true welfare state pattern of Riyasat-e-Madinah.

In this regard, Ehsas Program is being launched for the poor, needy, orphans and widows and the government is taking all possible steps to help the impecunious strata.

The Special Assistant said that no human being can achieve salvation without first fulfilling the rights of Allah Almighty as well as the human beings.

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, essential daily use items were made available in the Ramazan bazaars at the same rates as in 2018, she said.

Dr Firdous urged people to continue following corona SOPs and take all the precautionary measures to protect their lives during the Eid holidays.

She said that Ramazan bazaars will be transformed into convenience bazaars after Eid and the government will continue its mission of providing essential items at affordable prices.

She said the government spent billions of rupees for providing relief to the masses in the holy month of Ramadan and a total of 313 Ramazan bazaars were set up across the province where a 10-kg flour bag was provided at Rs375.

The government provided around Rs3.70 billion subsidy for this and consumers got a subsidy of Rs 150 per flour bag, she added.

The SACM said that sugar was sold at Rs65 per kg in the Ramazan bazaars while it was available in the open market at Rs85 per kg.

She said that fruits, vegetables, pulses and gram flour (besan) and other items were available at the rates of the year 2018. The sale of food items at previous rates is a commendable step of the PTI government, she said.

Dr Firdous said the best facilities were provided to the people in Ramadan bazaars and the implementation of corona SOPs, including observance of social distancing was fully ensured.

The government is committed to providing relief to the inflation hit masses and 8,942,713 flour bags of 10 kg were provided at the Ramadan bazaars out of which 7,666,973 flour bags had been sold at Rs 375 per bag

. Out of 29,956,681 kg of sugar procured from the sugar mills, 21,544,783 kg of sugar was sold in the Ramadan bazaars, she said.

The Special Assistant said that 1,201 price control magistrates performed their duties to monitor the supply and demand, price and quality of essential commodities during Ramadan.

On May 9th, the magistrates conducted 8,896 inspections. These inspections revealed 1,061 overcharging, hoarding and other violations on which 45 cases were registered, 29 persons were arrested and a fine of Rs 1,641,200 was imposed on the violators, she said.

The SACM also distributed ration bags among the people mouza barth and listened to the problems of the people and directed the administration to resolve them at the earliest.
