14th Council meeting of HEC established National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council was held in Higher Education Commission Islamabad and was chaired by Prof Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed (Pro-Vice Chancellor MNS Agriculture University Multan).
The chairperson warmly welcomed all the members especially newly nominated members and acknowledged the services of ex-chairperson Dr M E Tasneem and council secretary (Late) Naseer Alam Khan. The chairperson gave an overview of last year achievements of the council and expressed his concerns over the mushroom growth of agricultural institutes and unprecedented increase in students enrolments in various public and private institutes which is antagonizing quality.
It was also discussed that certain public sector institutes have started agriculture degree programs beyond mandate and without necessary infrastructure which should be taken up by QAA.
