ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to introduce electric double-decker buses in Islamabad to provide residents and international tourists with a modern and environmentally friendly way to explore the capital.
The proposed service will connect more than 15 major recreational, historical and tourist attractions across the city.
Expected Route
The planned route will include popular destinations such as Lake View Park, Shakarparian, Pakistan Monument, Faisal Mosque, Daman-e-Koh and D-Chowk.
The electric buses will offer passengers an opportunity to enjoy Islamabad’s scenic surroundings while travelling between key attractions. Each double-decker bus will have a capacity of up to 90 passengers.
The authority said providing modern transport facilities to residents and visitors is among its priorities.
The new service is also intended to promote Islamabad as a more attractive and tourist-friendly capital.
Residents have welcomed the initiative, describing the proposed electric double-decker service as a positive step toward promoting tourism and recreational activities in the city.
