Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid’s (PML-Q) Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has advised the government to give serious consideration to the opposition’s recommendations, instead of responding with rhetoric.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said the situation in the country has deteriorated to a point never seen before. Both the government and the opposition have been elected by the public, they must understand that we have to work in the interest of the country and the people.
The PML-Q chief said that they should not fall into the trap of getting credit for everthing.. He advised both the government and the opposition to pay no heed to those who put personal interest above national interest.
He said that both the government and the opposition should unite in the larger national interest. “Government representatives should take the initiative and resolve issues instead of making everything a matter of ego”, he added.
The former PM said that two and a half years have already passed, one more year of this negative back and forth will yield unfavorable results. Instead of escalating matters, we should move towards dialogue, whether formal or informal.
