The LUMS campus was abuzz with activity as the University welcomed its new class on the last week of August. Kicking off a myriad of fun and informative activities, the Orientation Week (O-Week), is organised in line with the University’s aim to connect with new students and parents on a personal level. The Orientation activities started with a welcome session held at the LUMS Syed Maratib Ali Sports Complex, where 2,700 students, parents, guests and faculty members were in attendance. The entire LUMS community got together to welcome the new class to the campus.
The welcome session was followed by a campus tour for parents and a detailed overview of the five schools at LUMS by their respective Deans and faculty members.
Orientation Week is organised each year for the new batch to welcome them to the University as they embark on an exciting new journey atLUMS. It is designed to give students and their parents the chance to acquaint themselves with the campus and the LUMS community, by participating in group activities. These activities help equip the newcomers with vital information, and provide guidance from faculty and senior students, to make it an easy transition into university life.—INP
