Two million Covid-19 doses provided by the US, Austria and Italy arrived in Af-ghanistan, UNICEF has said.
On its twitter handler, UNICEF wrote: “2 million doses of J&J COVID-19 vaccines ar-rived in Afghanistan through a generous donation by Italy, Austria and US. We thank our donors for helping us keep health workers, teachers & vulnerable groups safe.”
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on his twitter account wrote: “The first tranche of 1M COVID-19 vaccine doses ar-rived in Afghanistan today, adding to the 3.3M the U.S. previously provided via COVAX. We are commit-ted to supporting the humani-tarian needs of the Afghan people, which includes provid-ing safe and effective vac-cines to save lives.”
