Zohaib Khan receives IT icon award for industry contributions

Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), has been awarded the inaugural IT Icon Award by Ecommerce Gateway in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the local IT industry. The award was presented by State Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima, during the opening session of the 25th ITCN Asia.

With 15 years of service to P@SHA in various roles, including chairman, vice chairman, and member of the central executive committee, Zohaib Khan has been instrumental in the association’s achievements. Under his leadership, Pakistan recorded its highest-ever IT export earnings of over $3.2 billion in FY24. Additionally, Pakistan hosted the prestigious APICTA Awards in 2023 for the first time. Zohaib Khan has played a pivotal role in securing key initiatives, such as IT export awards, tax incentives at both federal and provincial levels, and 50% foreign exchange retention for IT companies.

sHe also launched Tech Destination Pakistan in collaboration with policymakers and a private bank. Furthermore, his leadership helped Pakistani IT companies expand into new markets, including the GCC and European countries. Currently, Zohaib is actively involved with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), aiming to push Pakistan’s IT exports to $10 billion in the coming years. State Minister Shaza Fatima praised his leadership, highlighting its importance for the country’s economic growth and expressing hope for future collaborations.
