LAHORE – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast strong winds, dust storms and thunderstorms accompanied by rain in Lahore and several other parts of Punjab on Sunday, particularly during the evening and night.
According to latest Met advisory, Saturday will remain dry, hot, and sunny, with temperatures peaking between 34°C and 36°C. Rains are forecasted for Sunday, triggering across the city while daytime highs hold steady at 34°C to 36°C. Conditions are expected to ease by Monday, transitioning to partly cloudy skies alongside a slight dip in temperatures to around 33°C to 35°C.
According to the weather forecast, most plains across the country are expected to remain hot and dry during the day, while weather conditions are likely to change in the evening and overnight hours across Islamabad, upper Punjab, the Potohar region and parts of central and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Islamabad, the overall weather is expected to remain dry, although partly cloudy conditions, strong winds, dust storms and thundershowers are likely during the evening and night.
PMD said most plain districts of Punjab will experience hot and dry weather during the day. However, evening and nighttime conditions may bring gusty winds, dust storms and thunderstorms with rain to several areas. The forecast includes Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Mianwali, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Jhang, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Lahore, Gujranwala and Mandi Bahauddin, along with their adjoining areas.
The department also warned that hailstorms may occur at isolated locations, particularly where thunderstorms become intense.
Most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain dry, but the evening and night could bring strong winds, dust storms, thunderstorms, rain and hailstorms to Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, Karak, Peshawar, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat and Hangu and surrounding areas.
Most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are likely to remain hot and dry on Sunday. However, partly cloudy conditions may develop in coastal areas.
Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to remain partly cloudy, with isolated areas likely to receive light rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
