The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 134 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Wednesday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 20 buildings on G T Road, 19 in Gulberg and Model Town, 65 in Wapda Town, 10 in Mustafa Town, and 20 in Awaisia Society and Nespak during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Yasir Broast, Fri-Chicks, Cakes & Bakes, Dollar Store, Euro Family Mart, Rehmat Banquet Hall, Connoisseur Grammar School, Fazal Din’s Pharma Plus, Chughtai Medical Centre & Lab, Iffat Anwar Medical Complex, Beauty Place Salon, U Shine Salon, Royal Unique School, grocery stores, food points, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings prior to the operations being carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
