Do Chai Uniworth Medfit Among 96 Sealed In Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 96 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Tuesday.

LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 23 buildings in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 38 in Johar Town, Nespak and Awaisia Society, 20 in Shadman and on Ravi Road, and 15 on Canal Bank Road and Defence Road during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

The sealed premises include Do Chai, Uniworth, Medfit outlet, Butt Karahi, Surrya Dental Hospital, Tashkent State Medical University, private banks, marriage halls, beauty salon, auto workshops, grocery stores, food points, offices, and other businesses.

LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.

According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings prior to the operations being carried out.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
