KARACHI – A woman has been allegedly gang raped in Ghotki district in northern Sindh, Pakistan, while police registered a case against five individuals amid outrage.
Authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made so far. First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Aadilpur police station on the complaint of the victim’s father. According to the complainant, the incident took place on May 3, when his wife and daughter had gone together in the evening to cut grass.
The FIR said that shortly after they went to the fields, the mother heard her daughter screaming from the direction of a nearby local landlord’s compound. When she reached the location, she allegedly found that Wadera Mushtaq was present along with five other men, and one of the individuals was reportedly carrying assault rifle.
The complainant alleged in the FIR that his daughter was stripped naked and gang raped by the accused individuals present at the scene.
The case was officially registered on May 19 at the local police station, nearly two weeks after the alleged incident of May 3. The complainant explained the delay in filing the FIR by stating that the family first consulted local community elders before proceeding with legal action.
Before FIR, a clip of the victim and her family circulated widely on social media. In the video, the family described the alleged incident and provided details of the assault. According to police, the victim underwent a medical examination. The initial medical report stated that she appeared for examination at a hospital on May 19, 2026, while the alleged incident was reported to have occurred on May 3, 2026.
A preliminary gynecological examination report noted that the victim’s hymen was not intact and that there was minor vaginal bleeding.
The report further said that feedback from the referring medical institution indicated no visible external injuries were found during the examination. It also recorded that two fingers could be easily inserted into the vagina during the medical examination.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anwar Khetran confirmed that an FIR has been registered and a medical examination has been conducted, but no arrests have been made so far.
