LAHORE – The police have arrested a woman allegedly honey trapped the driver of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket holder Abdullah Tahir before his murder.
The police said that the suspect was arrested in Sialkot and subsequently brought to Lahore for investigation.
The investigators said the woman allegedly honey-trapped Abdullah Tahir’s driver and was a friend of the suspected shooter.
Police claimed she had previously used similar tactics to lure several other people.
According to the investigation, another female associate of the suspects contacted Tahir’s driver through a social media application.
On the day of the incident, the driver and the woman allegedly had a video call after she reached a clinic.
The police said the suspects used the call to confirm Abdullah Tahir’s presence at the clinic before carrying out the attack.
The investigators also said the suspects allegedly used a drone camera to monitor the victim’s movements and conduct reconnaissance before the murder.
Abdullah Tahir, a former PTI ticket holder and party leader, was killed at a clinic in Lahore several days ago.
The police are continuing their investigation to identify and arrest other suspects allegedly involved in the murder.
