KARACHI – A severe heatwave continues to grip most parts of the country, with high temperatures and humidity affecting daily life. However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a possible reduction in heat intensity across Sindh starting tomorrow.
According to the Met Office, Karachi is likely to remain hot and humid over the next three days, with temperatures ranging between 35°C and 37°C.
Due to elevated humidity levels, the perceived temperature may feel even higher.
In Punjab, the heatwave is expected to persist throughout the day.
A spokesperson for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) stated that areas such as Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan may experience particularly intense heat.
The effects of the heatwave could be more severe for vulnerable groups including the elderly, children, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions.
The PDMA confirmed that clean drinking water is being provided in the Cholistan desert region, while heatwave counters have been set up at all hospitals to provide timely medical assistance.
The officials urged the citizens to take necessary precautions, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun and stay hydrated during this period of extreme weather.
