Weather outlook of Lahore, Punjab: More rains, gusty winds expected

LAHORE – Rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night and Tuesday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper & central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over the upper parts.

Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds expected in Murree, Galiyat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar on Monday night.

On Tuesday, mainly hot and very humid weather will likely persist in most districts of the province. However, rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galiyat, Potohar region, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura and Kasur.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36°C and 38°C on Tuesday and Wednesday, and between 35°C and 37°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, pre-monsoon rains occurred in upper Punjab and Islamabad.

Rainfall (mm): Noorpur Thal 29, Islamabad (Saidpur 27, Zeropoint 09, Golra 07, Bokra 01), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 14, Katcheri & Chaklala 01), Sargodha City 05 and Jhang 04

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. The maximum temperature in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan was recorded at 42°C, and in Chakwal and Attock at 41°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 per cent.
