KARACHI – Gold prices moved higher in both international and the local markets markets on Monday, extending gains as the yellow metal continued to strengthen in global trading.
The price of gold per tola increased by Rs1,200, taking the new rate to Rs437,536 per tola. The increase also pushed up the price of gold measured in grams.
The price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,029, and reached Rs375,116 as per the latest market rates.
According to market data, the price of gold in the international bullion market witnessed increase by $12 per ounce during Monday’s trading session. Following the latest increase, the global price of gold reached $4,150 per ounce.
The rise in international gold prices was reflected in the domestic bullion market, where rates also recorded an upward movement on the first trading day of the business week.
Meanwhile, silver prices also recorded gains in the local market. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs66, bringing it to Rs6,588 per tola.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of silver climbed by Rs57, reaching Rs5,648.
The latest movement in domestic bullion prices came in line with the increase recorded in international gold prices. Gold and silver rates in local markets generally respond to developments in international bullion prices, with changes in global rates influencing domestic prices.
The latest increase came as precious metals continue to attract attention from investors and consumers amid changing conditions in international markets.
Both gold and silver recorded higher prices in the local gold markets while the price of the same yellow maintained the upward trend in the global markets.
