PTI’s petrol bomb
PTI government came to power with a manifesto of change within the country. The change was meant to change for good, positive change in life and prevailing rotten system.
But the change has turned the living standard of people up side down. It has devalued human life due to value added taxes on daily use articles.
It has brought terrifying changes in electricity, gas and petroleum tariffs. The rise in petroleum products prices has led to rise in prices of almost all the commodities of daily use.
The income of people in all walks of life has reduced while inflation has touched new heights. This deliberate petrol bomb has brought a miserable change in our life, where we are unable to make our both ends meet.

Present government has resorted to steep rise in prices of petroleum products once. With constant price hike in petroleum prices, an unprecedented inflation level has plunged many into financial quagmire.
Since Imran Khan assumed government, Pakistan is reeling under worst inflation, searing price hike, low growth, high unemployment, political uncertainty and diplomatic segregation.
Pakistan’s inflation rate going through the roof day by day, masses are wailing as they are unable to purchase daily commodities.
The people voted Imran Khan as savoir, but he put shackle of inflation around their necks. Imran khan should go to a city square and see faces of people looking for work and get the glimpse how tough the life is.

A story
of hope
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) acknowledges September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
In this regard, I would like to share the story of Munaza Hashmi, a lawyer and human rights activist from Multan.
Hashmi developed a mass in her abdomen and was diagnosed with stage-4 ovarian cancer.
She was told she only had a few months to live and advised to visit Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Lahore where she might receive treatment at her advanced stage. She took chance and underwent her treatment there.
Alhamdolillah after more than a year of diagnosis, she has improved and fighting for women and their rights at Multan High Court.
Her story is a lesson for physicians and patients that not all stage-4 cancers automatically mean a death sentence.
It is important to seek care at a facility that is adequately equipped to treat cancer and proactively participate in decisions related to your health. Empower yourself with knowledge about the disease.
In this month, let us commit to educate ourselves about ovarian cancer. Some common symptoms include feeling bloated constantly, having a swollen tummy, feeling full quickly after eating and frequent urination.
Please do not ignore any unusual symptoms and visit your doctor to seek expert medical advice instead of approaching friends or family who can only support you emotionally, not clinically.

Politics of songs and slogans
During last month cantonment boards elections it became evident and crystal clear that Pakistani politicians lack political acumen.
Even a naive person can conclude that their campaign was solely based on emotionalism and slogans rather than quality and service. It can be rephrased as who can fool a larger number of masses more effectively.
Here are some observations: There was cut-throat competition of loudspeakers between different parties as to who has better sound system as sound of political songs was deafening and ear-puncturing. Different parties flattered masses in the name of humanity, patriotism and religion.
Candidates were heard affectionately calling few local workers by name so as to make them feel owned by party representative and what followed was the condition that there legitimacy to state, religion and humanity can only be justified if they voted to the candidate of their party which seemed to me as sheer exploitation of emotions, additionally, the candidates offered Biryani for votes and poor people were seen dancing for that one time feast.
From different observations, it can be gauged that the country is in dire need of reforms in its political system.
The campaigns should be based on quality and service, if not the political acumen of the candidate.
Otherwise, people will remain prone to emotional exploitation and would keep casting votes on the basis of which party plays better songs in louder voice.

School without water
Jath is a small village in Balnigwar with small government primary school containing two classrooms and a staff of only three teachers.
However, the school is facing numerous problems, most essential is lack of water due to which students remain highly uncomfortable.
Also, how can they attend school in hot weather with no water? While government is busy developing new technologies, various areas in Balochistan are still deprived of basic facilities.
Teachers have no other choice but to send students homes to get water bottles for drinking. Due to this serious issue, many students are compelled to drop out.
The government should provide water and other basic facilities to such areas as soon as possible.

Beggars
One may resort to begging as ultimate state of helplessness. Yet, I have seen fit and healthy people begging on roads, footpaths and other public places.
These beggars are working-class individuals who have become fatalistic and dependent by believing that they were fated to be poor as they were born poor and will always remain poor.
Such people do not even abstain from interpreting the idea of tawakkul (putting one’s trust in God). They deem its tawakkul to sit back idly and expect things from others. Government must control this business of beggary.
