Hatred against Christians

Visit any place in India and it is the Christian community who run the best schools, best colleges, best charity hospitals, best orphanages, best homes for aged people, best homes for destitute and best homes for leprosy patients. But what do we Christians get in return?
Abuse from Modi’s BJP goons who keeps accusing us of converting Hindus to Christianity, which is untrue. If this were true, then Christian population in India would’ve gone up and not fallen down to just 2 per cent.

NCV outbreak and Pak citizens

The Novel Corona Virus (NCV) outbreak in China is spreading rapidly. Many countries including US, Japan, India, Egypt, Turkey, South Korea, Iran, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are evacuating their students from Wuhan. Only Pakistani citizens and students are left there. Our government is showing stubbornness in bringing them back to Pakistan.
I got tears in my eyes seeing our students pleading on social media for help. Almost all the countries are evacuating their people and students. Exactly, don’t know what are we waiting for? Such citizens must be kept in isolation but they should be brought back, otherwise any further delay will result harsh situation. I urge concerned authorities to start immediate evacuation of all Pakistanis from China.

The outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (NCV) that has affected more than 13,000 people worldwide and death toll crossed 300 till now. The vast majority of the cases are inside China; about 100 cases have been confirmed in 21 other countries. World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared global emergency in this regard.
When all the medical researchers, experts and doctors are busy in finding causes and solutions of the problem, at this time a bunch of people is laughing by memeing this complication. Although this is a severe issue to consider, but either these folks are not aware about the seriousness of this issue or they are deliberately ignoring it. The point here is about the flood of unwanted memes on social media related to the deadly pandemic. We can’t find peace by making fun of serious issues. God helps those who help themselves.

The outbreak of Corona Virus in China has become a serious danger for the world. The fatal virus seems to have spread to other countries like US, France and the UK. However, given substantial Chinese population in Pakistan and frequent travel between Pakistan and China, the danger of virus spreading to our shores looms large.
It is good to know that government has taken swift and commendable steps by installing virus detection scanners at airports. In addition, media has a crucial role to play in spreading awareness about this virus and preventive measures.

Karachi University buses

KU buses (Point service) play a crucial role in transportation of university students. Karachi University has serious shortage of point service, as it only caters for students who are studying in morning shift.
Point service should not be limited to morning shift only and university should provide better point service for students of both shifts.

Israeli air strikes in Gaza

As tension is escalating between Israel and Palestine, Israel Defence Forces have attacked Gaza strip with air strikes. Israel has always bullied people of Palestine but there was calm for past sometime. Trump’s Peace Plan has infuriated Palestinians for being not treated at par with Israel.
Political temperature is rising in the area; any clash may prove fatal. In these testing times, Muslims must support their brethren and make efforts for bringing peace to the region so that, Jerusalem, where the third most holiest mosque Al-Aqsa stands, should not see bloodshed.

Save water, save life

Karachi is a mega city of more than 20 million people and is rightly called mini Pakistan but Karachi city daily faces water scarcity. Unfortunately due to lack of proper measures for securing and preserving natural resources, our country is suffering from water scarcity. Furthermore farming community is wasting a tremendous amount of freshwater due to outdated flood irrigation methods.
About 95% of freshwater is utilised for irrigation, and yet country is achieving a lower per acre crop production when compared to other regional countries. The city of Karachi and most of Pakistan has been facing a severe water scarcity as no proper planning exists to save water.

Importance of Urdu language

Urdu is our national language but it is not being given that value and space which it deserves. We see many leading countries in the developed world who speak their mother tongue without any complexes. These countries consider English as second language, that’s why they are on the rise. We should give importance to our mother tongue so other will give value to our language.

Tribal clashes in Shikarpur

In Shikarpur, every new day brings a new quarrel and it doesn’t end without claiming precious lives. People of Shikarpur have been experiencing these killings and it is not a new thing for them. Since childhood till death, they have been taught to fight and it is considered an honour for them to kill and defeat their opponents.
The other day in district Shikarpur, tulkah Ghari Yaseen two young people of Brohi tribe were killed by Kakepoto tribe in a tribal clash. This feud has taken more than fifteen years and more than 21 people have been killed till today. Shikarpur is not only suffering from this conflict but also there are many other such tribal strives that hit badly entire system of our city.
However, no one pays attention on this chronic issue, which is increasing day by day. To see these young people killed is quite heart wrenching for their parents and elders, when they happen to see corpse soaked in blood.
Owing to these tribal feuds many children become parentless and many parents become childless. We urge CM Sindh, Syed Murad Ali shah, IG police Sindh Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam and SSP Shikarpur Dr Rizwan Ahmed Khan to take immediate steps to alleviate tribal feuds from Shikarpur.

Smile vs crisis

Minister of State for climate change Zartaj Gul Wazir in a recent video said that PM Imran Khan’s killer smile is enough to subdue any crisis. Does this smile take us out from economic crisis, social and political conundrums?

Honour killings

Honour killing is the most inhuman and irrational crime happening all around Pakistan. It is an act of violence usually in which the woman is murdered by male members of the family. The argument is always behind this tradition of murdering women have brought dishonour to their families. The root causes behind the problem is refusing to enter into an arranged marriage, domestic abuse, being victim of sexual abuse, seeking a divorce even from an abusive husband .In Pakistan according to recent report by HRCP, approximately 1200 women have become victim of so called honour killing.
It is shameful to call such brutality honour killing. It shows that man consider women as their property. It all boils down to the view that women do not have the right to choose something from their own and are compelled to accept other making decision.
