The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 49 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in various housing schemes on Thursday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 20 buildings in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 25 in Allama Iqbal Town and Subzazar Housing Scheme, and four in New Muslim Town during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include American Lycetuff, Unique School System & Science Academy, Pak Vision College, Bait-ul-Mamur Schools, Phonics Academia School, U Shine Salon, grocery stores, food outlets, workshops, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.
According to the LDA spokesperson, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings prior to the operations being carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes.
