Lahore tops the rankings of the world’s most polluted cities, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching a very unhealthy level of 238 on Friday.
According to data collected from the IQ Air website on Friday at 4:37 pm, Dhaka (Bangladesh) is in second place with an AQI of 231 (very unhealthy), followed by Delhi, India, with an AQI of 178 (unhealthy).
Kabul (Afghanistan) ranked fourth with an AQI of 170 (unhealthy), closely followed by Skopje (North Macedonia) with an AQI of 166 (unhealthy).
Hangzhou (China) ranked sixth with an AQI of 158 (unhealthy), closely followed by Kolkata (India) with an AQI of 155 (unhealthy).
Karachi (Pakistan) is ranked eighth with an AQI of 145 (unhealthy for sensitive groups), followed by Mumbai (India) with an AQI of 130 (unhealthy for sensitive groups). Baghdad (Iraq) is ranked 10th with an AQI of 118 (unhealthy for sensitive groups).
AQI of the two top cities (Lahore, Dhaka) is very unhealthy, that of the third to seventh is unhealthy, and that of the eighth to 19th cities is unhealthy for sensitive groups.
