Two Day Dekho Film Festival To Start From Jan 14 At Lahores Alhamra

LAHORE – The Lahore Arts Council Alhamra, in collaboration with the Department of Film and Broadcasting, University of the Punjab, will host a two-day film festival titled “Dekho Film” on January 14 and 15 at Alhamra.

Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said film is a powerful and influential medium capable of conveying messages to audiences in an impactful manner.

He noted that in the modern era, film is no longer limited to entertainment but has emerged as a significant means of social, intellectual and cultural expression.

He said that along with film screenings, the festival will feature talk sessions and training workshops to provide young filmmakers, students and film enthusiasts with opportunities for learning and dialogue.

The executive director added that a diverse selection of films based on meaningful themes has been curated for the festival, highlighting social, cultural and intellectual aspects.

He said these films would not only entertain audiences but also open new avenues of thought.

Gondal further stated that the Lahore Arts Council Alhamra is utilizing all available resources to ensure the success of the festival, with preparations currently in full swing.

He expressed hope that the “Dekho Film” festival would prove to be an important milestone in promoting Pakistani cinema, nurturing young talent and encouraging creative expression.
