WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump on Saturday appointed Mora Namdar, a lawyer who also owns a chain of beauty parlours in Texas, to a senior position in the US State Department.
Mora Namdar has been named Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, a key role that oversees critical matters including visa approvals, enforcement of travel regulations, and the issuance and revocation of US passports.
The appointment sparked debate across political and social circles, with discussions focusing on professional diversity in senior government roles and the relevance of prior administrative experience.
Namdar is a qualified and experienced legal professional and has previously worked in the same department during President Trump’s first term, where she served in a temporary capacity.
