ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has imposed a ban on six officials of the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) for failing to submit financial accounts, a decision that the federation has decided to challenge in court.
The PSB stated that the six former officials were penalized due to financial irregularities and for not providing a complete record of government grants received.
The ban pertains to the submission of accounts for PKR 65 million in grants allocated during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 fiscal years.
This development highlights ongoing tensions between the PSB and national sports federations over financial transparency and administrative control.
According to the PSB notification, the Pakistan Netball Federation has seven days to submit the required financial records. If the records are submitted within the stipulated time, the ban could be reconsidered. The federation also has the right to appeal against the decision within 30 days.
Responding to the PSB’s move, PNF Secretary Mohammad Riaz stated that all audits have already been submitted and accused the board of attempting to take control of the federation. The federation has decided to approach the courts to contest the ban.
