Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced on Saturday that after successful negotiations with the government, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan has decided to call off its “Pakistan Bachao March” (Save Pakistan March).

The announcement came during a press conference in Islamabad, where Rana Sanaullah was accompanied by TLP leader Shafiq Amini.

Sanaullah expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the second round of talks, stating that crucial matters had been resolved with the TLP. The negotiations primarily focused on safeguarding the Finality of Prophethood (PBUH) and curbing blasphemy, which are integral to every Muslim’s faith.

Addressing the TLP’s demand for the release of Aafia Siddiqui, Rana Sanaullah described her case as a national issue that deeply saddened every Pakistani. He called upon human rights organisations to pay attention to her situation and assured the public that the government would write a letter to United States authorities, expressing concern about her imprisonment and considering her 86-year sentence as unfair.
