KARACHI – Sindh Healthcare Commission has issued permanent licenses to three hospitals in Mirpur Khas in recognition of their quality healthcare services.
With support from the Indus Health Network, the Thar Foundation Hospital in Islamkot and the Marvi Clinic located in Thar Block-2 have been granted permanent licenses. Similarly, the Site Clinic established by Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) in Block-2 has also been awarded a permanent license.
Dr. Altaf Khawaja, Director of the Sindh Healthcare Commission, said that there are approximately 100,000 small and large, public and private healthcare centres in the province. Out of these facilities, only around 14,000 are registered so far, and 1,200 centres have been issued temporary licenses. Only 113 centres across the province have received permanent licenses.
Dr. Altaf Khawaja explained that the SHC conducts regular evaluations of the services and facilities at all healthcare centres. Only those centres that consistently provide high-quality and standard healthcare services are recognised with a permanent license.
SHC Deputy Director Faheem Abro said that these centres operated by Thar Foundation and Indus Health Network met the stringent evaluation criteria and were granted a permanent license accordingly.
