On 14th August, the Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, inaugurated the “Blue Jacket Project”. The main objective of this project is to arrange volunteers and create awareness among the citizens of Karachi regarding the harms of open littering and the throwing of garbage/filth other than the fixed places such as landfills and dustbins. This cleanliness campaign has been initiated both by the Sindh Government and the District Administration South under its very energetic and capable Deputy Commissioner Syed Salahuddin Ahmed.
This project will definitely help in bringing awareness among the citizens on the very important element of human health i.e. cleanliness besides sensitizing the citizens regarding their responsibility of not going for open littering and not throwing garbage at the open roads and streets surrounding their homes. This project is basically aimed at realizing the citizens of Karachi of their moral responsibility that without their cooperation, no any cleanliness campaign/drive may be successful by the government. So, we all the residents of Karachi must play our role in making Karachi clean by extending a helping hand towards the government’s “blue jacket project”.
