Significance of 19th CPC
IN the rapidly changing world most recently, the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) concluded its sixth plenary session in which a landmark resolution was adopted to highlight the major achievements and historical journey and experience of the CPC’s 100 years.
During this CPC plenary session a comprehensive summary was also presented to show the noble deeds of the party, its members and common people alike.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a keynote speech at the session.
It was a milestone meeting not only for the history of the CPC and the People’s Republic of China which also officially unveiled a new historical journey in the country’s great rejuvenation.
The most prominent feature of this communiqué is the summary of the main tasks in the four historical periods and the important experience in ten aspects accumulated over the past 100 years.
It compared the previous six plenary sessions, the said meeting also summarized Chinese success experience and boosted confidence, and that experience will also be very meaningful to the world
According to the released communiqué which summarized the key achievements in the 100-year history of the Party, it has divided history into four different periods in which Chinese communists, with Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping as chief representatives, achieved a series of historic achievements.
In this context, it divided the period of the new democratic revolution (Mao); the period of socialist revolution and construction (Mao); the new period of reform, opening up, and socialist modernization (Deng, Jiang and Hu); and the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics (Xi).
It vividly reflected the generational representation of Chinese people like making the 100-year journey a relay race and constant struggle to achieve success against all odds.
It upheld seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation its mission; staying committed to communist ideals and socialist convictions.
According to the communiqué, “the CPC has led the people in great endeavors and accumulated valuable historical experience over the past century.
It consist of ten aspects: upholding the Party’s leadership, putting the people first, advancing theoretical innovation, staying independent, following the Chinese path, maintaining a global vision, breaking new ground, standing up for ourselves, promoting the united front, and remaining committed to self-reform.
Thus it has comprehensive policies of total transformation and transmission of socio-economic growth involving all main stakeholders, policy makers, political leaders and society alike.
It represents valuable practical experience gained over long term and intellectual treasures created through the joint efforts of the Party and the people.
The communiqué termed the Party’s 18th National Congress a turning point in the national history of China and the CPC too.
Ultimately Xi Jiping became the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and socialism with Chinese characteristics entered a new era.
The major tasks facing the Party in this period were to fulfill the First Centenary Goal (building a moderately prosperous society in all respects), embark on the new journey to achieve the Second Centenary Goal and continue striving toward the great goal of national rejuvenation.
During this period President Xi has implemented great historical initiatives, tremendous political courage and a powerful sense of mission which has solved many tough problems in the past. It has prompted historic achievements and historic shifts in the cause of the Party and the country.
It seems that since the Party’s 18th National Congress, there has been greater unity among all Party members in terms of thinking, political resolve and action.
The Chinese people have witnessed the stronger capability of the Party to provide political leadership, give guidance through theory, organize the people and inspire society.
During this journey of total socio-economic transformation, political maturity, civil harmony and, above all, institutionalization of nationalism the nation has passed through various difficulties and obstacles and gradually achieved success and accumulated extremely rich experience.
It may be called a living miracle which successfully combined Marxism with Chinese practices/values.
In this context, the formation and extension of China’s path is an epic original creation in human political history. Now world has drastically changed. Even rules of the engagements have also been modified.
The US has dubbed China as its biggest strategic competitor, which fundamentally reshaped China’s strategic orientation. It has also further enhanced level of risks to China.
In the past, the CPC was leading the Chinese people to achieve what is traditionally called domestic victory and progress.
But now, it has to lead the country to deal with the biggest emerging socio-economic, geopolitical and geostrategic challenges in the world, the most powerful and comprehensive siege and constant containment policy of the US and its allies.
It has started Chinese concept of promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
This is not only a continuation of the Chinese people’s century-old dream, but also a brand new undertaking.
In this regard, the CPC must step up its study, continue to innovate, adapt to the rapid changes of scenes where China fights its way and prepare itself for a higher mission. Otherwise, a dangerous political deficit will emerge.
The CPC formed a solid core status of Xi Jinping and strengthened the backbone of the Party and the people. Subsequently, it led the people politically and guided the people and inspired society. The external strategic pressure has been unprecedented since the reform and opening-up.
However, Chinese constant policy of calmness paved the way of greater success in the time of crises. This is a solid dynamic balance.
It is hoped that the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core will continue to show extraordinary leadership and ability to take challenges under control.
Moreover, it will lead the Chinese people through this unprecedented test in Chinese history on the world stage.
It will make historic contribution to the realization of the enormous scale of social modernization of mankind and the fundamental resolution of the geopolitical dilemma of the rise of great powers.
To conclude, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the gravitational force of the Chinese politics, society and foreign policy.
It has been a guiding force to the successive leadership, decision makers, politicians, political entities, society, ethnic groups, students and common people alike to jointly work for the betterment of China.
CPC has indeed put China on the driving seat of the world to lead the Asian Century. In this regard Chinese President Xi Jiping has introduced numerous structural reforms to achieve the goals of balanced economic growth, equality and above all multipolar world.
CPEC is all about massive struggle and striving hard to achieve harmonization in the society, stability in the national politics and sustainability in the economic development by implementing the holistic policy of shared prosperity.
