The Sindh High Court (SHC) expressed its concern on Thursday over the disappearance of three citizens and issued notices to the Sindh government, federal government, police, and other concerned parties.

Three additional citizens, including a retired officer of the Federal Invistigation Agency (FIA), have been reported missing. The high court directed the government to take immediate steps for the prompt recovery of the missing persons.

The court summoned the Station House Officers (SHOs) of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Khokharapar, and Sohrab Goth police stations to appear before it. Additionally, the bench ordered the home department to submit its report on the matter by June 28. In a plea presented earlier, petitioner Waqas Ahmed informed the court that Ahmed Jan Khan, who served in the Federal Invistigation Agency (FIA) for 33 years and retired as an assistant director of investigation from the FIA’s Commercial Banking Circle in 2021, was taken by unknown persons on April 28.

He pleaded for the recovery of the missing person. Another petitioner, Maulana Aurangzeb, informed the court that Shahzeb, who runs a Chingchi rickshaw, was forcibly taken at gunpoint by unknown persons in a Vigo from Al-Asif Square on June 4.

Petitioner ShehrozShirazi appealed to the court that YounusShirazi, aged 53, was abducted by unidentified individuals on June 9 from Khokharapar. The petitioners have requested the court for the immediate recovery of the abducted citizens.
