Coronavirus can be transmitted through infected blood of a patient to healthy person. One such case has also been reported in foreign country. It is very important not to get blood transfusion from any coronavirus patient.
This was said by Dr. Durre Naz Jamal Kazi who is serving as Secretary of Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA).
Talking to this correspondent in her office located in the premises of I I Depot nearJinnah Hospital, Dr. Durre Naz Jamal Kazi urged public and healthcare workers to avoid taking blood from any such suspected or positive case of novel Coronavirus.
“Blood donation should only be accepted from healthy persons through registered blood banks only. We have displayed lists of blood banks registered with authority at premises of each major hospital in the province of Sindh.
