The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has launched a public awareness campaign across Karachi, placing banners on buildings declared extremely dangerous. Announcements through loudspeakers are also being made to notify residents. In light of the ongoing monsoon rains, SBCA Director General Abdul Rasheed Solangi has once again warned occupants and users of unsafe buildings to vacate them immediately to protect lives and property.
Residents have been advised to avoid sitting near these buildings as water leakage during the rains could lead to sudden collapses or fires due to short circuits. The campaign, which covers districts South, Central, East, and other parts of Karachi, includes both public announcements and the installation of warning banners. SBCA’s Director of Demolition has also initiated awareness drives and flag marches across the city to inform the public. The authority remains in full coordination with relevant agencies to respond to any untoward incidents.
