RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held high-level meeting with First Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the General Headquarters.

The two military leaders engaged in in-depth discussion on expanding military cooperation and strengthening strategic collaboration between their armed forces.

General Al-Ruwaili called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The meeting focused on the shifting global and regional security landscape, with both sides reviewing challenges and opportunities shaping the defence environment in the Middle East and South Asia.

The two military leaders explored concrete measures to further intensify operational engagements, training exchanges, and strategic coordination. They reaffirmed their commitment to elevating Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defence relations to new heights.

General Mirza underscored Pakistan’s unwavering pledge to defend the territorial sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and reiterated Islamabad’s steadfast support for the security of the Harmain al-Sharifain. The Saudi Chief commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and lauded their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He also acknowledged the pivotal role of the CJCSC in strengthening bilateral military cooperation.

Upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, General Al-Ruwaili was presented with an impressive tri-services Guard of Honour, reflecting the warmth and depth of the Pakistan–Saudi strategic partnership.

The series of engagements mark a renewed momentum in defence diplomacy between the two nations, signalling a continued alignment on regional security and mutual strategic priorities.
