KARACHI – Drugs Queen Anmol Pinky gets clear in 2021 drugs case in unexpected twist to cases surrounding her after major arrest earlier this year.
Karachi court acquitted her in narcotics case dating back to 2021, handing the woman at the centre of a sprawling drug investigation a significant legal victory. Additional District and Sessions Court (South) approved Anmol’s acquittal plea and discharged her from the case registered at Gizri police station. Advocate Anam Kausar represented her before the court.
The case remained pending for years, with Anmol previously declared a fugitive. Her defence argued that she had been nominated on the basis of statements attributed to two co-accused, Ali and Fahmida.
Both co-accused were acquitted in 2024. The defence subsequently maintained that their acquittals had effectively removed the evidentiary basis required to sustain the case against Anmol. Accepting the defence argument, the court granted her acquittal.
Who is Anmol Pinky?
Anmol, aka Cocaine Queen, shot to fame after law-enforcement agencies linked her to an alleged narcotics distribution network operating in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan.
Police and investigators described her in various reports as an alleged drug dealer or “drug queenpin”, but those descriptions remain allegations unless established through final judicial proceedings. Reports have linked her to the alleged supply of cocaine, ice, ecstasy and other synthetic drugs in affluent parts of Karachi.
Reports about Pinky’s early life portray a woman who came from a modest family and initially sought a career in modelling and acting. Her father, Murad Bakhsh, was reportedly a taxi driver, while her mother was said to have family roots in Punjab. Anmol reportedly left school after eighth grade before moving to Lahore in pursuit of opportunities in the entertainment industry.
During that period, she was reportedly seen visiting film directors’ offices while attempting to secure modelling or acting work.
Media reports have offered varying accounts of her marriages and relationships. Investigators have also linked her family and associates to different areas of Lahore and Karachi, including Khayaban-i-Zafar Society, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Baloch Para near Jahangir Road.
The investigation surrounding Anmol expanded considerably following her arrest in 2026. Authorities alleged that she was connected to a sophisticated drug-supply operation stretching beyond a single neighbourhood, with Karachi and Lahore emerging as key locations.
According to investigators, the alleged network used WhatsApp and social media to communicate with customers and coordinate deliveries. Female riders were reportedly used for distribution, while digital transactions, SIM cards registered in other people’s names and proxy or “benami” bank accounts were allegedly part of the system.
Police also claimed that narcotics were marketed using packaging and slogans associated with the name “Pinky”, including phrases such as “Queen Madam Pinky” and “Naam Hi Kafi Hai.”
Investigators estimated that the alleged operation could generate millions of rupees in sales, while reports said Anmol did not maintain a conventional bank account in her own name.
Anmol’s arrest in 2026 transformed the investigation into one of Karachi’s most closely watched criminal cases. Law-enforcement agencies said she was arrested during an operation targeting an alleged synthetic-drug network. Authorities claimed narcotics and an unlicensed weapon were recovered.
Police sources subsequently linked her to a substantial number of previous narcotics cases. One report said investigators had identified at least 14 cases, while a later charge-sheet account cited 27 cases across Punjab and Karachi. Anmol has disputed aspects of the official account, including circumstances surrounding her arrest.
The case became even more serious when an unidentified man was found dead in circumstances that investigators initially linked to the alleged drug network. A murder case was subsequently registered against Anmol. She was also sent to jail on judicial remand in connection with multiple narcotics cases and the murder investigation.
Throughout the proceedings, Anmol has rejected several allegations levelled against her. She has accused police officials of pressuring her to provide statements and has alleged mistreatment during custody. She has also questioned the authenticity of certain pieces of evidence, including voice recordings, and has claimed that some material presented against her was fabricated or generated using artificial intelligence.
