PESHAWAR – Intermittent rains and windstorms with few hailstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till June 16.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), westerly wave prevails over upper/central parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during the next two to three days.
Under these conditions, Intermittent rains and windstorms are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Few hailstorm may also occur during the period.
Rains, strong winds, hailstorms and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels till June 16.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 43°C and 45°C on Saturday, between 42°C and 44°C and Sunday, and between 41°C and 43°C on Monday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, rains occurred at isolated places.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Bannu was recorded at 45°C.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 20 per cent.
