LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced a province-wide crackdown on the violation of the one-dish rule and the unlawful use of loudspeakers at weddings and other events.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure strict enforcement of the one-dish policy across the province.
The move is aimed at maintaining decorum and reducing noise pollution caused by high-volume music during weddings and ceremonies.
The provincial government has issued specific instructions to take action against the use of loudspeakers during Qawwali nights and other similar events.
Authorities have been instructed to monitor and enforce legal action against the illegal use of loudspeakers in venues such as farmhouses and grounds, alongside the conventional wedding halls.
In addition to the crackdown on loudspeakers, the government has also mandated that all marriage halls adhere to their designated operating hours.
Any violation of the one-dish rule or unauthorized use of loudspeakers will result in wedding officers being prohibited from attending such events.
The provincial government aims to maintain a balance between celebration and public convenience while curbing environmental disturbances.
By reinforcing these regulations, the government intends to promote more regulated, peaceful gatherings in the province.
