Vehicle caught fir after rocket fire

In a gruesome incident Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader and Tehsil Nazim Havelian was gunned down along with seven other comrades in a broad day light on Monday.
Reports reaching here said the Tehsil Nazim Havelian in Hazara division was travelling in a vehicle along with other accomplices in the city area when their vehicle was showered with the bullets by the unknown assailants.
While a number of people on board the vehicle succumbed to their bullets wounds, at least three people were burnt alive when the ve hicle they were travelling in caught fire due to heavy firing.
“Some unknown armed men attacked a vehicle of Nazim Atif Khan Jadoon with automatic weapons. More than eight people were present in the vehicle,” District Police Officer Umar Tufail said adding the bodies present in the vehicle were completely burnt. The vehicle was also destroyed by the heavy flames that engulfed the vehicle in no time.
While the independent sources said the ambush on the Nazim vehicle was politically motivated, Umar Tufail claimed the attack was apparently carried out by unidentified men due to personal enmity.
The police and rescue teams rushed to the attack site and shifted the dead bodies. The police have started probe into the incident which has sent a wave of anxiety and unrest among the locals specially the PTI supporters.
