Sindh’s Local Government Minister, Saeed Ghani, heralded Karachi’s strides under the PPP’s leadership. Since assuming office, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Town Chairmen have steered Karachi’s progress, tackling civic hurdles head-on. Ghani assured Karachi’s Mayor of unwavering support from the provincial government in swiftly resolving pressing issues like water, sewerage, and developmental projects.
The Local Government Minister stated this on Friday as he met at his office Karachi’s Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Sindh Culture Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, MPAs Farooq Awan, Sohrab Sarki, Lal Chand Ukrani, and Korangi Town Chairman Naeem Shaikh. Ghani said on the occasion that the new Sindh government of PPP would do its best to resolve the civic issues of the people of Karachi and the rest of Sindh.
In the meeting between the Local Government Minister and Karachi Mayor, the municipal issues of Karachi, water and sewerage problems, development works in the city, and different initiatives of the provincial government to serve the Karachiites were discussed.
The Local Government Minister assured the Karachi Mayor that the provincial government would extend the fullest support for resolving civic issues in Karachi expeditiously. Ghani said that timely completion of the ongoing development works in Karachi would go a long way in fulfilling the commitments made by the Pakistan Peoples Party with the Karachiites.
The Mayor told the Local Government Minister that the city’s elected municipal leadership belonging to the PPP stood fully committed to resolving the civic issues of the people of Karachi as all the promises with the Karachiites would be fulfilled. In a meeting with the Korangi Town Chairman, the Local Government Minister said the PPP’s elected local government representatives in the city should serve the Karachiites in the best possible manner without any discrimination as per the directives of the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the manifesto of the Peoples Party.
He said the new PPP’s Sindh government would do its best to discharge all its solemn obligations and responsibilities related to public service keeping in view the invincible mandate given by the people of the province in the February 8 general elections.
