ISTANBUL – With economic diplomacy taking center stage, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif landed in Istanbul for a key visit to Türkiye, where high-level talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and a major investment conference are expected to open new avenues for trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Sharif arrived in Istanbul on Friday for high-profile bilateral visit to Türkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, marking another significant step in the growing strategic partnership between the two friendly nations.
PM received warm welcome at Atatürk Airport from Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, and senior officials from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistani Embassy.

In response to the invitation of our President, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, will pay a working visit to our country on July 4, 2026. During the meetings, relations between Türkiye and Pakistan, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, will be reviewed in all dimensions, and views will be exchanged on regional and global developments. Additionally, it is envisaged that a Business Forum will be organized as part of the visit.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar also accompanied PM . During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdoğan are expected to hold comprehensive talks covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Türkiye relations. The discussions will focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and other key sectors while reaffirming the two countries’ shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
A major highlight of the visit will be the prime minister’s address at a Pakistan-hosted business conference in Istanbul, where he will present Pakistan’s vast investment potential to leading Turkish investors and business leaders. The forum will spotlight opportunities in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), the energy sector, information technology, privatization, and other high-growth industries, reflecting Pakistan’s drive to attract foreign investment and strengthen economic partnerships.
The conference is expected to draw prominent Turkish entrepreneurs, investors, senior government officials, and distinguished guests, providing a platform to forge new business collaborations and deepen commercial ties between the two brotherly nations.
