RAWALPINDI – Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has been appointed as new City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi with immediate effect, according to an official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).
A Grade-20 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), Hasan Mushtaq Sukhaira has been posted against the vacant position of CPO Rawalpindi. Prior to his appointment, he was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Punjab, Lahore. The notification said that Sukhera will assume charge of his new responsibilities with immediate effect.
His appointment follows the transfer of former CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Mehmood Hamdani and comes at a time when significant administrative changes are expected within the Rawalpindi Police.
There are reports of large-scale reshuffling of police officers is likely to take place in the coming days. The expected transfers may include Superintendents of Police (SPs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and Sub-Inspectors serving across police stations in the district.
Sources further claimed that transfer lists for several officers have already been prepared and are expected to be implemented following the new CPO’s assumption of office. However, no official confirmation has yet been issued regarding the proposed transfers.
