The Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat, Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, has said that Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir’s insistence on resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions is a reiteration of the unwavering support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that Pakistani people and the people of Jammu and Kashmir are united in their demand for a free and fair referendum for the independence of the Indian occupied state.
He stated that Syed Asim Munir expressed full solidarity with the people of Kashmir during his visit to the ceasefire line and the demand to resolve the Kashmir issue according to the resolutions passed by the United Nations has been described as a welcome move and an important message for the establishment of peace in the South Asian region. “India is promoting anti-peace trends, terrorism, unrest and Hindu extremism in the entire region, including Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
“Under strict military siege, Indians are plotting to urge the people of Kashmir withdraw from their demand for freedom and self-determination through the worst violations of human rights”, he lamented. He opined that under such circumstances the statement of COAS regarding the freedom of Kashmir is of utmost importance.
Ghazali said that Pakistan Army stood like a rock with the people of Kashmir in the journey of independence. He also negated the statements made by the Indian government, Defence Minister and the Indian military generals regarding Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan as cowardly.
