ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday took notice of complaints regarding the poor gas supply and directed the uninterrupted provision of it to domestic consumers.
PM Shehbaz passed the order while chairing a meeting on gas supply in the country.
The PM directed the relevant authorities for uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers during the winter season.
The PM also directed reforms in the system’s structure to resolve this issue permanently. He emphasized that providing gas to domestic consumers is the government’s top priority.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz was briefed that there is a surplus of RLNG in the system which resulted in better gas load management compared to the previous year.
The duration of gas load shedding decreased compared to last year. The domestic consumers are being supplied gas from 5:00pm to 10:00pm
The PM was also apprised that the power sector is being supplied gas according to its demand.
The online dashboards of SNGPL and SSGC are operational to address consumer complaints. The complaint resolution rate is 93 percent for SNGPL and 79 percent for SSGC, and all gas fields in the country are active.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahsan Iqbal Cheema, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal and other senior government officials were also present.
