Governor Sindh and Dow University Chancellor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori emphasized that Pakistan is brimming with talent and that unwavering determination and hard work are essential for success. “Whether resources are available or not, persistence and effort will lead you to success,” he said while addressing the 14th convocation ceremony at Dow University.
The governor congratulated the graduating students and urged them to dedicate their achievements to their parents and teachers. “Today marks the beginning of your professional journey. Promise your parents that you will always stand by them,” Tessori remarked. Highlighting the importance of youth in solving the nation’s economic challenges, Tessori cited the inspiring example of javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem.
“The son of a mason, he practiced tirelessly with cement-filled cans and made Pakistan proud. His story proves that determination can overcome all obstacles,” he said. Governor Tessori noted Pakistan’s history of producing remarkable individuals, such as the first governor of Saudi Arabia’s central bank, who was Pakistani, and the pivotal role of PIA in establishing Emirates Airlines. He encouraged students to take on the responsibility of addressing Pakistan’s socio-economic issues, stating, “Leaving the country may be easy, but staying here to carve your path is the real challenge.”
He also emphasized the growing importance of technology and artificial intelligence, sharing that 50,000 students are currently receiving free IT training at Governor House to prepare for the future. The governor urged students to use their perseverance and skills to illuminate Pakistan’s future and contribute actively to the nation’s economic stability.
