ISLAMABAD – Alot of Pakistanis, especially those looking for blue collar jobs, are facing problems in getting UAE visas for employment amid several changes in Gulf nation, and now the Pakistani Embassy in United Arab Emirates shared an update on the matter.

As those looking to work in the UAE are shaken up by media reports claiming restrictions on people from several cities, UAE government shared an official document outlining the reasons for visa restrictions on Pakistani nationals.

In a statement, the embassy termed these reports factually incorrect and clarified that no such document had been provided by UAE authorities.

The statement clarified that Islamabad and Abu Dhabi hold strong ties, and are resolve any mutual concerns through official channels and constructive dialogue. The embassy assured that the interests of Pakistani citizens in Arab nation are fully safeguarded and that the embassy will continue to work closely with UAE authorities to strengthen bilateral ties.

UAE Visa Update for Pakistanis

In October this year, Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi shared his views on ongoing visa challenges for Pakistanis after UAE’s amnesty program ended.

Tirmizi was of view that visit visas, typically a reliable route for Pakistanis, have been increasingly turned down, and noted that UAE’s shift towards a more skilled workforce led to reduced demand for low-skilled workers from south asian nation.

He further stressed significance of investing in professional development of Pakistanis, particularly in skills like emotional intelligence and organizational ability, to meet UAE’s evolving needs. He also warned against negative impact of social media criticism on diplomatic relations and urged cooperation between the government and private sector to address these issues.
