ISTANBUL – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday welcomed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the historic Vahdettin Palace in Istanbul, setting the stage for high-level talks aimed at deepening strategic cooperation between the two longstanding allies.
The visit began with an official welcome ceremony before the two leaders moved into a closed-door bilateral meeting to discuss key issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

Joining the discussions were Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Intelligence Organization chief Ibrahim Kalın, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and Presidential Chief Advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç, highlighting the significance of the engagement.
Following the one-on-one talks, Erdoğan and Sharif are expected to lead delegation-level discussions involving senior officials from both sides, with a focus on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
The two leaders are also scheduled to address the media at a joint press conference later in the day, where they are expected to outline the outcomes of their discussions and reaffirm the close partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye.
