ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the establishment of a China-style law enforcement investigation centre in Islamabad.
The announcement came during a meeting with Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who recently returned after completing specialized training courses in China and Türkiye.
The minister also announced a series of reforms inspired by successful international law enforcement models.
The participating officers said their international training programmes provided them with valuable professional exposure, helping them develop new skills and gain insights into advanced policing methods, modern surveillance tools, and updated strategies for managing public security.
Recognizing the significance of global learning opportunities, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that overseas training initiatives would be made a permanent part of the career development framework for Pakistani police personnel. He said the government aimed to strengthen law enforcement institutions by providing officers with advanced expertise and technological resources to tackle evolving security threats.
Naqvi also highlighted plans for establishing a china-inspired law enforcement investigation centre, which would bring detention, investigation, and summary trial processes together at a single location. The facility is intended to speed up the handling of minor criminal cases and reduce delays in legal procedures.
The minister said Pakistan would adopt successful international policing practices to build a more efficient, modern, and technology-focused law enforcement system. He added that the use of advanced surveillance solutions and digital tools would enhance monitoring capabilities and contribute to stronger crime prevention measures.
As part of efforts to improve security operations, Naqvi announced that the Interior Ministry’s Aviation Wing would receive advanced drones to support surveillance activities and assist law enforcement agencies in maintaining public safety.
He further announced plans to introduce redesigned police uniforms aimed at improving functionality and meeting the practical needs of officers engaged in modern policing duties.
