LAHORE – The Pakistan Railways has generated a record revenue of more than Rs 88 billion at the end of the financial year 2023-24.
At the stat of the fiscal year, federal government has set a revenue target of Rs 73 billion.
As per the press release issued on Sunday, as many as Rs 47 billion revenue was generated from passenger trains, Rs 28 billion from freight and Rs 13 billion from other sources.
During the previous financial year, the Pakistan Railways earned Rs 63 billion. As such, the income has increased by massive 44 per cent.
CEO Pakistan Railways Aamir Baloch has said that record revenue was generated due to the tireless work of the employees. He expressed determination to take the income to more than Rs 01 trillion next financial year.
