NPC organizes Christmas cake-cutting ceremony

Pakistan is home to several religious, ethnic com-munities and ancient civilizations that have been living on this land for centuries and contributing to the uplift, peace and prosperity of the country. These views were expressed by Chairman of the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) Mian Muhammad Javed while presiding over a Christmas cake-cutting ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Quaid here Monday.
The cake-cutting ceremony on the eve of Christmas is an annual tradition of the NPC and the council has been organizing this event without fail. Besides Chairman of the NPC Mian Muhammad Javed, members of the executive committee of the NPC, Member National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) Manzoor Masih who is also a senior member of the NPC executive committee, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mrs Farrukh Khan, MPA from Balochistan Amna Khanam, Pas-tor Christ Church Rawalpindi, Rev Rashid Man-zoor, Dr Muhammad Afzal Babar, members of the Christian Sebastian, Juston and a large number of the Christian community members attended the cake-cutting ceremony.
They expressed their unflinching trust and belief in the future of Pakistan and prayed for its stability, welfare of the people and a bright future.
Addressing the ceremony Chairman of the NPC Mian Muhammad Javed said Pakistan was proud of the contributions of its citizens, whichever the faith they belonged and these contributions aimed at making the country a great nation in the world.
This is a country of 220 million people and each citizen and each community needs to play its role in the progress of the country, said Mian Muhammad Javed while felicitating the Christian community on the auspicious event.
