ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s passport has improved by two places in the latest global passport rankings, moving from 103rd to 101st position.
Despite the improvement, it remains among the world’s weakest passports, ranking above only Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
According to the 2026 Henley Passport Index, Pakistani passport holders can now travel to 29 countries and territories without obtaining a visa in advance or by using visa-free, visa-on-arrival or electronic travel authorisation arrangements, reflecting a slight improvement in global mobility.
The annual ranking, compiled by global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners, evaluates 199 passports based on access to 227 travel destinations worldwide. The index measures passport strength according to the number of destinations holders can enter without securing a visa beforehand.
The report noted that visa policies may be affected by changing travel restrictions and international diplomatic developments.
Singapore retained the top position as the world’s most powerful passport, while India ranked 81st. Afghanistan remained at the bottom of the global rankings, with the weakest passport in the world.
