RAWALPINDI – A living exmple of courage and rapid response, as Pakistan Navy, in close coordination with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), rescued all 20 Pakistani crew members from a cargo dhow that was on the verge of sinking after being overwhelmed by severe flooding east of Ormara.
The life-threatening ordeal began when the vessel started taking on large volumes of water and sent an urgent distress call to the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC). With lives hanging in the balance, the Pakistan Navy immediately sprang into action, diverting PNS HUNAIN and deploying aerial assets to the scene for a high-priority rescue mission.
Battling the emergency at sea, rescue teams reached the stricken vessel in time and safely evacuated all 20 crew members, preventing what could have been a devastating maritime tragedy. Officials confirmed that the rescued sailors were safely brought ashore and are receiving the necessary medical care.
